Single/CO-OP player Action Game

It is a gravity-themed, single/co-op game with a story-driven, level-rotating, brutalist feel for Multiple using Level.

​Players are deep in the underground secret laboratory jointly operated by the United States and the Soviet Union. When they sneak in, they accidentally discover the evil experiments inside. When they want to escape, they find that they have no choice but to face the truth.

Background Research

The theme is set in the 1940s to 1960s, during which there are a lot of documents and materials available for reference. And the restoration is relatively easy.

The spatial design can provide a more distinct visual style experience. The specific psychological cues can mobilize the player's emotions and sense of sublimity. At the same time, narrative content is added to take into account all age groups, achieving: a bright first sight, and sophisticated and profound.

Design goals & Quest Flow

The level is divided into four sections. The first stage is the value verification. Players will carry out the task of pushing the car to clear the level. In this stage, the passive plot content is provided to pave the way for the later stages. Players will not have too much difficulty pressure. The main goal is to clear and protect the life value of the vehicle.

After the second stage of clearing, players arrive at the train station, which is a free exploration area that provides passive 90° rotation due to gravity. In this level, a complete function introduction and further exploration of collectible information are provided, allowing players to mobilize their emotions and maintain a stable stage to prepare for the next stage. In addition, the macro scene allows players to feel the world.

The player can check the warning information of a workstation and then escape from the area. Entering the third stage, the player returns to the cargo distribution center. Here, a trigger box is used to change the scene. Since the scene has been rotated 90° to become a vertical level, a gate is used here to prevent the player from falling. The player needs to find a key card to unlock the switch. In this level, the player is provided with a free rotation mechanism [90° each time]

After unlocking the gate, the player enters the last scene and returns to the rotating bridge halfway through the vertical descent. During the vertical descent, the player triggers the collision box at the entrance and enters the QTE action. After the action is passed, the player hooks the zipline for slow-motion fixed-point release, and obtains high rewards by killing the fixed-point monsters on both sides. Reach the climax of emotions. After landing, QTE actions is performed again to avoid falling damage. Finally, return to the entrance of the track, at this time, the locked controllable gravity rotation becomes a level limit. The player performs the last wave of monsters in this area, and uses repeated operations to reduce the emotional point and return to the main lobby, which is conducive to patiently watching the new plot and carrying out new tasks.
